William D. Friend, Partner (Retired)
Over four decades of practice experienceBill distinguished FH2 with decades of experience in technology, contracts, intellectual property and the purchase, sale and financing of technology companies and litigation. He taught computer law at the Georgia Institute of Technology for over ten years. Bill has a wealth of experience in private finance, including debt financing, vendor finance, venture capital and angel financing, and private equity transactions. He has handled cases involving computer software licensing and development agreements, system sales contracts and master service agreements.
Arbitration
Prior to retirement, Bill devoted his practice to service as an arbitrator and mediator in IP, contract and business torts and cases with complex financing and accounting issues. He served as an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association and was on the AAA Roster of Neutrals for Large, Complex Cases and on the Technology and eCommerce panels.
Outside of the Office…
Bill and his wife, enjoy horseback riding, pack trips into the Wyoming mountains, and visiting their children and grandchildren. Plus, he holds a black belt in Japanese karate.
